The City of Rensselaer takes great pride in the annual events that bring our community together. Our staple events include the Little Cousin Jasper Festival, Taste of Rensselaer, Oktoberfest, Farmer's Market, Fire Department's Pancake Breakfast, Art in the Alley, Prairie Arts-Carnegie Center Events, Christmas Parade, Cruise Night and Relay for Life.

As a community, we have many organizations that help to promote and improve the quality of life in Rensselaer, such as the Chamber of Commerce, Jasper County Economic Development Organization, Retail Merchants Association and Main Street Rensselaer.

Rensselaer is also home to Franciscan Hospital, The Jasper County Sheriff's Department, Rensselaer Amtrak, Rensselaer Central School Corporation (Grades Pre-K to 12), St. Augustine School (Grades K-5), Good Samaritan Food Pantry, Jasper County Division of Family Resources and the Jasper County Health Department.
