Council Member At Large Carole Beaver, Pledges Four More Years
Councilwoman Carole Beaver takes the Oath of Office For Council At Large for the City of Rensselaer. Kara Fishburn, Clerk-Treasurer for Jasper County delivers the oath to Councilwoman Beaver. Councilwoman Beaver will serve as Councilmember at Large of Rensselaer from January 2008 through December 31, 2012.

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Trash, Curbside Recycles: All City of Rensselaer Offices will be closed on Monday, January 21, 2008 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Monday trash and curbside recycle routes will be picked up on January 22, 2008.
City Council Meeting: The next City of Rensselaer City Council Meeting will be held on Monday,January 28, 2008 at 4:00PM at City Hall located at 122 N. VanRensselaer Street in the city council chambers. Check you navigational bar on your right for the current council meeting minutes and upcoming agenda.

Melville Street Project Progression: Mayor Arihood announced the Melville Street Reconstruction project will move into the land acquisition phase during the month of June. This is expected to take several months to complete. The proposed reconstruction will take place at the Iroquois River and will end just north of Merritt Street, a distance of approximately 1.14 miles. Once completed the project will show reconstructed asphalt pavement, storm sewers, curbs and sidewalks. Utilities will also be relocating within the project limits.
